History

The publication and production of magazines has not only been our trade for many years, but – like music itself – it is also a passion that has held us in its grip from the very start. It all began in 1976 with a music magazine called MUSIKER, originally intended as a specialist journal. Even back then, we soon found out that music magazines and the kind of music they deal with are closely connected with the scene or subculture whose form of expression a particular musical genre happens to be. To us, music magazines have always been and continue to be an important link between consumers and musicians, promoters and record companies.
It is important, at major events in particular, to offer revellers a cost-efficient festival magazine covering the artists appearing as well as all aspects of the event – from the programme through culinary offers or the location of the information stalls to rules of conduct at the camp site.

We published our first festival magazine back in 1978 for the Mönchengladbach Pop Meeting. As publishers of monthly music magazines like MUSIKER (later MUSIK NEWS) and Germany ’s first heavy metal magazine, DESASTER, we have always been at eye-level with fans and promoters, while acting as spin doctors for extremely successful emulators like Metal Hammer or Rock Hard. During that time, we also published at regular intervals numerous special editions for almost every major German promoter.

Not only have we produced magazines, we have also been involved in the production side of events in the local area. For many years, we were in charge of production management for Rockteam publishing at a time when Rockteam – Metal Hammer (both the German and the international editions), Metal Attack, Musik Szene, Hurricane and a number of other magazines among their publications – were Europe ’s probably most important publishers of music magazines in the hard rock and heavy metal sector. At that time, Rockteam had a significant influence on the international music scene, and of course also on us.

In view of this, our time as production managers for the trade magazine, PLAY Mag, seems somewhat incongruous.
At the end of the day we have returned to the heavy metal genre and are now at home at most of the major metal festivals. The promoters of the legendary DYNAMO festival paved the way for us to the non-food sector, where we have been operating successfully for ten years now.

Taking on challenges like the WAS’N STAGE Festival 2003 in Stuttgart, which was very successful for us, or the METAL MANIA festival in Spain, scheduled to be a constant part of our annual calendar, has been a successful concept. Unfortunately, the Spanish authorities have placed several obstacles in the promoters’ path, hindering a continued fruitful cooperation. Constantly working on new solutions has made it possible to offer our clients – fans and traders on the one hand, and the promoters on the other – a first-class service.

The fact that we still work to a large extent with the same partners that we started out with makes us proud.

We can cover the entire NON-FOOD sector of your event. Please get in touch with us if you have unusual ideas – we will work with you to make them reality. Should you feel that certain areas of your event are simply getting on top of you, and you are worried about neglecting your core business, do not hesitate to get in touch, even at short notice. We will be delighted to help!
