What we had hoped for last year really did happen: the ROCK HARZ festival was the festival with the greatest leap in attendance numbers in 2011. Almost 10,000 visitors came to Ballenstedt. The new area has proved to be ideal, with the option to expand the capacity. Although the promoters are officially expecting 10,000 revellers again, we wouldn’t be surprised if this number was surpassed. They are still working on optimising the organisational side, but in the long run the ROCK HARZ intends to be a fan-friendly festival without “fairground activities”, the promoters wanting visitors to come to this festival for the music.
